Day 14 of our trip (May 27 1017). Made it to Tin Cup RV Park Mahomet, IL. for a overnight stop. We usually stop here for a overnight stop when traveling on US 74. Not a bad place, not a destination either. Some full hook-up sites, some just water/electric.
Day 13 of our trip (May 25 – 26 1017). Just spent 3 day at Hueston Woods State Park in College Corner, Ohio. Stopped here to visit wife’s cousin. Park is really nice, wooded, and green. Park is away from the towns so not a lot of road noises. That’s the good, my mistake was to stop here on Memorial Day weekend. Lots of folks like to camp here and it filled up fast. We had a electric only site, but full hook-ups can be had. Here are some pics, lots & lots of folks:
Day 11 of our trip (May 22 – 24 1017) Time to leave my sister’s house and head to Ohio on Rt. 80. We Had a good time here, got to see most of the family. We going to head west on US 80 across Pennsylvania. Never drove it before, time for an adventure.
Day 8 of our trip (May 15 – 21 1017) Time to leave Solomon Island Navy Rec Area and head on up to Pennsylvania to see some of my family. We plan staying at my sister’s house. Solomon Island was pretty cool. Most of all the trees and plant are in full bloom and the grass already needed cutting. Park is for military/DoD personnel only unless you are sponsored by someone. Full hookup sites, water/Electric sites, showers, dumpsite, and laundry. Also has a fishing pier, license required. Park was not full but it’s prior to Memorial Day so tourist haven’t showed up yet. We had a good time with family and friends. On with the adventure
Day 2 of our trip (May 15 1017) starts at R V Resort At Carolina Crossroads, Wallace Fork Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC, United States. Right off Hwy 95, easy on & off. Did about a 4 hour drive with a breakfast stop, and a few pit stops. Park was pretty full when we arrived, a lot of folks heading north I guess, so early check would be advisable this time of year. They had full hookups to include cable & wifi, a pool, and laundry. Had a good night sleep. Heading to Solomon Island Navy Recreation Area to spend some time with wife’s family and friends. This stop is scheduled for 6 nights. First three weeks of this trip includes stops at family locations. We’re planning to cross the boarder near Shelby, MT. around the 8 of June. We’ll see, stuff happens.
Day 1 of our trip ( May 14 2017 ) back to the Yukon Territory starts here at our home base in Hawkins Creek Campground, Hubert NC. Truck camper loaded on truck, trailer loaded, and we are ready for the ride. Been sitting to long and I am ready to move again. This trip will last about 3.5 to 4 months. We take our time traveling and take in all the sights. Like a lot of people say, Its not only the destination that matters, but the trip there is also great. There are a lot of places out there just waiting for visitors to show up and enjoy.
