This is a Texas State Park, Cooper Lake State Park, located about 15 miles north of Sulphur Springs, TX. Stayed here 13 days, May 28 – June 9 2013. It was starting to get pretty warm during this time of the year, but we have a son living near here and we had a real good time. The park is really great, well maintain, plenty of sites for the larger RVs. The park rangers and staff are very nice and helpful. The bathrooms were clean and have a lot of hot water. Fishing is allowed in the lake, but water was low when we were there, so I didn’t try. About fishing in Texas State Parks, NO LICENSE REQUIRED AS LONG AS YOU ARE A PAYING GUEST AT THAT PARK. There are 82 electric & water sites. They have a few sites with sewer hook-ups, but of course that will cost more. All sites back in. We have a 40 ft. 5th wheel and fit in easy. Had water & electric at our site. Dump station available. Direct TV, Verizon Cell & Internet worked great. Paid $ 16.00 per night. If you do not have the Texas Annual Park Pass, it will cost you an extra $ 5.00 per person, per day. It’s best to purchase the annual pass if you camp a lot in Texas.
